In 1932 Mississippi, identical twin brothers return to their Delta hometown determined to start over after years up north. With scraped-together cash, they buy a rundown sawmill and set their sights on building a juke joint—a place where the community
can work by day and come alive by night. Family and neighbors are pulled into the plan: a cousin with a guitar and big dreams, a wary preacher who fears where all this music leads, and loved ones still carrying old grief. As the opening approaches, past mistakes and buried tensions resurface, and unsettling signs hint that something far older and darker has taken root in the town. Caught between the future they’re trying to build and forces that would claim it, the brothers must decide what they’re willing to risk to protect their place, their people, and each other—before the night tests them all.
