“I just missed your heart.”
17-year-old Hanna was raised by her father, a former CIA agent, in the wilderness of Finland. She is no ordinary girl: trained in assassination skills and fluent in different languages, she never had contact with modern technology or other people.
Her father's goal is to send her out to kill Marissa, a woman who, as it turns out, played an important role in Hanna's past. On her way to complete her task, Hanna travels through Europe, escaping from a team of killers who were sent after her by Marissa.
When she meets a family with a campmobile, Hanna makes friends for the first time in her life. This shows her that relying on other people makes you both stronger and weaker, as she gets unexpected help, but sharing secrets also makes her vulnerable.
When Hanna reunites with her father, she learns some painful details about her existence, that he had knowingly kept secret from her the whole time, and the reason why Marissa wants both of them dead.
Joe Wright's “Hanna” is an exuberantly crafted chase thriller that pulses with energy from its adrenaline-pumping first minutes to its muted bang of a finish. (Variety)
