A cool adventure and a heart-warming story.

What a beautiful summer in the nice small kingdom of Arendelle, where the little princesses Elsa and Anna live with their parents in peace and harmony. Everything appears to be normal, like in any other kingdom … except for little Elsa’s power to freeze everything she touches. After she accidentally hurt her little sister while playing one day she locks herself away, in fear that next time she could kill her.

Only after many years, and after the death of their parents, she ends her isolation to celebrate her 21st birthday and her coronation. Anna manages to fall in love and agrees to marry the first guy she finds, but Elsa won’t give her blessing to the marriage and in anger demonstrates her power to everybody.

Shocked by what she has done, Elsa flees to the mountains and unintentionally releases a snowstorm that casts an eternal winter over the kingdom of Arendelle. Now Anna must find a way to save her home and bring back her beloved sister.

“Frozen” has both showtunes and darkness, but most satisfying is a formula-defying finale that successfully subverts the fairytale status quo. (Time Out)
