After Maisie Lockwood released the dinosaurs four years ago, they are now wreaking havoc in the ecosystems they invaded. In order to put the dinosaurs back under lock and key, Biosyn Genetics has established a preserve for the great reptiles in the Italian alps. Humanity is now working to relocate all the dinosaurs to Europe. But Biosyn Genetics is hiding some dark secrets behind its facade of animal welfare. Its CEO, Dr. Lewis Dodgson, secretly wants to control all of the world's agriculture by releasing genetically modified locusts. Dr. Ellie Sattler and her partner Dr. Alan Grant get to the bottom of Dodgsons plans and expose them to the public.

Maise Lockwood, now fourteen, is being secretly raised by Owen Grady and Claire Dearing. They try to protect the girl, who is the first genetically designed clone of a human, from the public and evil organizations that try to get her for their research. Coincidentally, Owen also takes care of Beta, an asexually reproduced Velociraptor. But their calm life in the woods is soon turned upside down when they cross paths with Biosyn Genetics and Maisie and Beta are kidnapped.
