However, 12-year-old Atari, the ward of the mayor, misses his pet and sets out to find him. He dares to hijack a plane and fly to Trash Island in order to search for Spots. After crash-landing, the boy is rescued by five alpha dogs – the gossipy Duke, former Doggy Chop celeb King, sports mascot Boss, plucky Rex and misunderstood stray Chief. The pack of misfit canines decides to help Atari and together, they must overcome great obstacles along their way – to say the leashed.
